After completing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement Studies at the University of Queensland in 1999, I went and taught for 6 years in both Australia and the UK. It was during this final year that my sister noticed a gap in the fitness industry for mums, after having her first child and so I decided to leave the schoolyard and take my education to Mums and the outdoors. With my passion and enthusiasm for health and fitness and keenness to help others and make a difference to their life, Mums-ercise was born.

In September 2006, after finalizing my personal training qualifications, I began offering Post Natal mum and bub classes in parks and clients homes throughout Brisbane. Initially classes were limited during the week, whilst I continued to pursue my other love, representing the Queensland Firebirds in the National Netball League. But since hanging up the boots on these fun times, all of my energy has turned towards the mums of Brisbane and what I can do to make them feel brilliant about themselves and their bodies. I now not only offer the Post Natal Mums and Bub classes but also provide early morning and evening classes for those mums (and dads) who have already returned to work. I run a lot of 1 on 1 sessions with ‘older mums’ and I hope to one day provide a group session specifically for the Brisbane Grandmas, as the benefits of exercise for mums of any age is huge. I continue to support the Brisbane City Council Active Parks Program which I truly believe is a wonderful initiative and I run ‘FREE’ Mum and Bub sessions each week for them on the southside of Brisbane.

In 2009, my husband and I welcomed into the world our beautiful daughter and we have since been blessed with a gorgeous son too and once I officially became a Mum (best thing ever!), everything that I had been doing and trying to achieve with Mums-ercise, suddenly took on a whole new meaning. I am now even more passionate about providing opportunities for mums to exercise outdoors, with other mums and children in tow and in a safe way. Exercise is definitely my drug of choice. Collectively, Mums are an incredible bunch of people and I hope I can show you how exercise can impact and change your body, mind, attitude and mood, as we all deserve to feel amazing!
